Members of the Western Illinois Builders Association volunteered time, labor, and materials to turn a donated former bank building into a Visitors Center.  The work began on the new Welcome Center in February 1999 and continued throughout most of the summer.  WIBA members installed new plumbing, 2 new furnaces, and 2 new air conditioners and remodeled the interior and exterior of the building.  IBEW rewired the building.  The Western Illinois Builders Association spent close to $100,000 in materials and labor on this project.  The Western Illinois Builders Association's office now resides in the corner office of the Welcome Center.
